What is Parkscape?

Parkscape is a community focused environmental non-profit organisation that formed following the brutal murder of a 16 year old Franziska Blöchliger in the fynbos of Tokai Park in March last year.  The managing team is made up of concerned residents from Stonehurst, Silvertree, Tokai and Kirstenhof.  The supporter base of over 2500 people extends from the Constantia valley to as far afield as Stellenbosch, and even has overseas-based supporters.

The organisation’s objective is to create a safe space within the Constantia valley, focusing on biodiversity, shaded recreation, community development and social upliftment for the people of Westlake Village.

You can read more about the Tokai Park vision HERE.

Parkscape hopes that ultimately the vision – in which the concepts of sustainable cities, urban greening and social upliftment meet – will serve as a model for other buffer zone areas of Table Mountain National Park.

To date, Parkscape has been funded by the generosity of residents and businesses in Tokai and Constantia Valley.  All team members work on an entirely voluntary basis.
